What does Counselling look like?
It takes courage to take the first step, especially if the thought of working with a counsellor seems hard or scary. However, if this is something you have been considering for a while now, then what you are doing is a form of self-care and this has many benefits.
Is counselling for you?
Some of the most common reasons people see a counsellor are: worry and anxiety, loss of motivation, low mood, conflict with others, traumatic experiences, and many more.
Whether you work with a counsellor for a brief period or longer, either way, your mind and body will be grateful to you for having taken steps to improve your mental health.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to work with someone external to what is happening in your life, allowing you to explore thoughts, feelings and gain fresh perspectives.
A counselling setting which refreshes the experience of therapy, for you to grow.
We live in an individualistic society which often promotes a false expectation that we should be able to manage things ourselves and be independent.
But how should we cope with unexpected events we don’t anticipate, or when things don’t turn out the way we expect them to?
Many people will tell you not to worry, get over it and/or move on, but this approach doesn’t support you in the longer term.
This is where I can offer you a chance to be heard and validated. To re-engage with what is important to your overall health and wellbeing. Counselling and the course of treatment is by means a journey of self-discovery, to reconnect with who you are and where you want to go.
